Welcome to XrefText5* (superceding XrefText4 and preceding versions), a text-based stack that provides text-to-text HyperText* capabilities in the HyperCard* environment.
XrefText was originally inspired by Raines Cohen of Team BMUG in a stack idea topic in GEnie's HyperCard BBS Category, and developed to its present state by Frank Patrick.
It works by toggling between the LockText modes and using the selection of words to search the keyword fields. See the Help button for the simple details of operation.
• Note: XrefText comes complete with a nominal shareware* solicitation.
• Another Note: The graphic look of XrefText was provided by Mel Ristau*. Version 1 was mine and I must admit it was rather ugly in comparison. The new looks just blew me away and shamed me into the functional modifications*.
• Final Note: I use Times for the fonts in the text fields. If you don't have Times installed in your system, or if you would rather use another font or style, you can toggle the menu bar by pressing Comand-Space for customizing these settings.
• Really Final Note: A previous version of XrefText was featured in the premiere issue of HyperNews, a stack-based newsletter for the HyperCard community, and in that issue, garnered a rating of 8.6 out of a possible 10 (second highest of the stacks reviewed)...So if I don't brag for myself, who will?
